Comments:	This was my first sighting of the pileated woodpecker- the date and time are approximations, as I did not know at the time that sightings could be reported and I didn't bother keeping track. It was at the top of a tree, pecking away- I had heard it before seeing it. I saw one, possibly the same one, again, in the same forest but further in the direction of Blackcomb mountain. It was on the ground eating out of a rotting tree stump. This was about 10 days or so after my first sighting, at around the same time of day. I saw one AGAIN (and I'm convinced it's the same one) on the lost lake trail, alongside the Fairmont golf course. It flew out of the woods right towards me and landed in a tree to my left (going in the direction of Lost Lake.) I stopped to watch it for a while- it spiralled its way further up the tree and I'm fairly certain it was aware that I was watching it, as with my previous sighting, and it seemed to be okay with that! This was on June 6th, at approximately 3:30 p.m. Impressive wingspan! I feel very lucky to have come into contact with this bird so many times!
